They'll Nickel and Dime You to Death!
The entertainment industry isn't happy. They're losing revenue as people start making the move from traditional tv watching, to online streaming. The industry has decided we're not watching enough commercials, not paying enough for the "privilege" to watch such mindless, brainless idiocy as: House, CSI, 30 Rock... and the list goes on and on. Why are we letting such a small group of elitists dictate? I admit that some of the writers out there today are amazingly talented, the artists who work on these shows do some good work, and some of this stuff is entertaining. Buy, why, for all the tea in China are we so obsessed? In actuality, these people work for us, not vice versa.
As for the rest of the story, if it gets to be more and more expensive to watch TV on the computer, I won't be watching any. I refuse to pay premium prices for the mindless crap churned out by Hollywood. They gripe about throwing away revenue because they have to have that money for their huge mansions, fancy cars, and lavish lifestyle. I don't know about anybody else, but I'm tired of being expected to support those lavish lifestyles. (Not only that, but who has time to watch programming ten hours a day, anyway?!)
In the end, no one is going to say, "I wish I'd spent more time watching TV."
